Abstract | This research aims to study the optimal environment for the growth of ear mushrooms, focusing on enhancing their yield and quality. The Internet of Things (IoT) system was employed to collect key growth factors such as temperature, humidity, and irrigation. Sensors were used to measure temperature, humidity, and water flow. The results indicated that temperature and humidity levels fluctuated inconsistently, with temperatures ranging from 30-38°C and humidity levels between 50-85%. Farmers typically irrigated the mushrooms three times a day with irregular intervals, potentially impacting the mushrooms' growth.
To address these issues, an automated temperature and humidity control system was developed using sensors and the ESP8266 microcontroller board. The measured data were used to control the water pump and sprinkler system, ensuring optimal conditions for mushroom growth. Real-time monitoring and adjustments were made possible through a web dashboard. The experiment demonstrated that the automated control system resulted in more consistent and higher quality ear mushroom yields compared to non-automated systems.
