Abstract | The use of liquid petroleum gas LPG cook station is widespread in Thailand, LPG cookstove is a combustion device which liberates lot of heat energy during cooking. A thermoelectric (TE) generator is preheated, which can convert part of waste heat into electricity to provide alternative cooling over short period of time for the in intermittent operation of a TE generator in small-scale space of the LPG cookstove, a cost-effective and passive evaporative cooling system is designed. It has higher cooling efficiency compared to natural air cooling, and absorb automatically without pumps, avoids the startup problem. This work develops a passive evaporative cooling heat sink integrated TE generator-cookstove system, a continue running process for 10-minute is tested experimentally. Experimental results show that the TE generator can be self power running. Maximum power is 1.723 W, and the generation efficiencies is 1.37 % when the temperature different between the hot and cold side is 38 degree Celsius.
