The research objectives to study the student’s opinion toward learning  process in recreational learning through backpack traveling subject and suggestions for learning management in the future. The methodology was survey research. The researcher created a questionnaire, and used to collected data. The questionnaire were examined by cronbach's alpha coefficient method value =.97. The samples were 134 students, selected by purposive sampling. They enrolled in courses opened in the academic year 2018. Data were analyzed by finding frequency, average, standard deviation, used statistic T-test, F-test. The study found that the sample group is female 70.10%, male  29.9 %. There were the students from 12 faculty enroll in this course, 76.9% of students had traveled abroad already. There were the largest number of students in the Faculty of Veterinary Technology. The results of the opinion, in general, were at the highest level and only 1 item was at the high level. The comparison of opinions based on gender variables, year of study, faculty affiliated found that there were statistically significant differences at the .05 level in some item. The student suggestion about: should have textbooks for learning, should organize travel trips within the country to save costs, would like more time to travel, would like to have teaching materials in advance, would like to have many forms of teaching materials, would like to have activities that allow students from different faculties to be able to get together faster, would like to improve  internet system in the classroom.
